At Cheshire Power Washing we offer a wide range of power washing cleaning services! Power washers are very versatile devices, but they take time and experience to learn. Many people also don’t realise the important differences between the two main types of power washer.
Power washers can be either hot or cold water devices. There are numerous factors to consider when it comes to choosing one. You have to consider what it’s being used for, where you want to use it and how often you’ll be using it. Let’s look at both variants in more detail.
Cold Water Power Washers
Cold water power washers are easier to manufacturer and more convenient to use and operate. Because of this, they are generally the more common for general usage. Professionals will generally opt to use hot water power washers but cold water devices are used as well. They generally come in two distinct types gas and electric.
Gas Engine: These power washers are usually louder and often produce exhaust fumes. These means they aren’t often very eco-friendly however they are usually portable devices and better suited for outdoor work when compared to electric variants.
Electric Engine: These power washers are much quieter than gas engine models and are always fume-free. But they do have more limited power and will need to be plugged into an outlet to use. This can make using them outdoors a little more difficult, but on the other hand it means they are better suited for indoor use.
Hot Water Power Washers
Hot water power washers are generally reserved for professional use and they offer some advantages over cold water devices. They can reach temperatures of up to 311 degrees and are therefore better at removing grease and oil stains.
This also means less detergent will be needed when cleaning. Drying times will also often be shorter as well due to the higher temperature. Hot water power washers are also better at killing germs and bacteria as well.
Both hot and cold water power washers can make wise investments but think carefully before choosing one.
